Today will be sunny and once again windy with gusts to 30 mph. Tonight will feature increasing high clouds with winds subsiding and lows around 45 degrees.
Tomorrow, clouds will increase from South to North and should be overcast by 3 pm or so with highs around 65 and increasing winds out of the east.
There is not only 1 but 2 powerful systems. One that is moving north into Florida and the other moving east through the Midwest
These storms will merge and will lead to a rapidly intensifying area of low pressure in Virginia/West Virginia by Wednesday morning. This low will slowly move north through PA then NW towards the Great Lakes.
We will be on the warm tropical like side of this storm, leading to moderate to heavy rains and winds out of the SE at 20-30 mph from early Wednesday morning to Wednesday evening. I am expecting anywhere from 1.5-2.5 inches of rainfall. There is potential for locally 3 inches as it will be tropical in origin and there will be periods of very heavy rainfall.
I think flooding will be an issue with all the rain we have had lately
This is Wednesday afternoon/early evening with very heavy rain/thunderstorms and very strong southeasterly winds across the whole state of NJ and into PA.
There is a stripe of 2-2.5 inches right over Northern NJ with 2 inches throughout the rest over Jersey and 1-1.5 inches in PA where they get dry slotted due the low tracking right over them.
After this storm we continue with chilly conditions and below normal temperatures , with highs stuck in the 50s by Thursday and lows in to 30s for most of the region from Thursday through the upcoming weekend.
