Today will be partly cloudy with highs approaching 60 as a cold front to the north of us brings more a of a SW wind. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with lows 40-45 and Friday will be cloudy to start, than clearing as the cold front goes south with highs 50-55 and lows 30-34 as a polar air mass briefly builds into the region. Saturdays highs will range from 47-52 and lows will be 27 – 35
On Sunday we start to moderate again as the high pressure moves off the coast, and leads to a SW wind with highs around 55 then the SW wind becomes really established Monday – Wednesday with highs 60-65 and lows 40-45. The warmest air will stay west of us due to the position of the high pressure and 70s are possible for Western PA to Chicago, we will stay in the low to mid 60s which is a little above average but not really unusual for early November ( only 2-5 degrees above normal) the average high is in the upper 50s to around 60 and average low around 40
Next Thursday or Friday, a cold front and or storm will impact the area , the track of the low is uncertain but it looks to track into the Great lakes and drag a cold front through the region , this is part of the pattern change and this storm will start the transition from a positive NAO and AO to a negative NAO and AO which will start to carve out a trough over the eastern US and allow cold Canadian air to drain down the east coast by next weekend
This is next Saturday and you see how the isobar lines are going north to south down the east coast with an established North to Northwest wind as a huge ridge builds in the west and central US (isobars going WSW to ENE) and a warm WSW wind bringing in warm Pacific air into the western US. This will lead to the west becoming warm and quiet and the east becoming stormy and cold
This is just the start and each storm will lead to more and more of a block over the Northern Atlantic and a -AO with more and more cold air coming south with each storm and it looks like by the time we reach Thanksgiving we will be well into a cold pattern and some late November snow will be possible.
