Today will remain nice , temps 60-65 , increasing clouds but no chance of rain. The cold front is situated well north of the region and with that so is the rain …. for now. One low pressure has developed along the front and is now moving well north of us, with a swath of heavy rain from Chicago to almost Boston!!
The cold front will remain north but sink south slowly tonight through tomorrow with most if not al the rain staying north, can’t rule out a few scattered showers tomorrow though, highs will stay warm but should be pretty overcast with lows 45-50 and highs around 65.
Tuesday night the front will situate over our region and that’s when conditions will go downhill. As an area of low pressure developing over Texas rides along the front, showers will start to ride WSW to ENE tomorrow night and becoming steady by Wednesday morning
As you can see, there’s a swat of heavy rain from Texas to NYC , 1.5-3 INCHES. The 3 inch amounts will remain south and west of our area, with more in the order 1-2 inches here
The heaviest rain looks to be over South Jersey at this time where they are likely to get 1.5-2.5 inches, NYC and North Jersey will get more like 1-1.5 inches. Wednesday looks like a washout, with rain from Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening and falling temps through the period as the front slowly works south bound.
It clears out from west to east Wednesday night and cold air will come in behind the system with lows falling into the low to mid 30s Wednesday night, highs 45-48 on Thursday and Friday and lows 25-32 both nights before we warm up ahead of our next system Saturday back into the mid to upper 50s for both Saturday and Sunday , next cold front comes through early next week with another shot of cold air behind it.
