There is a lot to talk about today so I am going to start off with the surface map and radar
You can see our cold front that will lead to the stormy conditions.
There is plenty of showers and periods of moderate heavy rain moving in SW to NE. There is going to be a lot of precipitation over next 48 hours. This front will slowly move through the area today through tonight with on and off rain today, tonight and tomorrow.
3 areas of low pressure will impact us, one is today with showers, the next is tonight with heavier rain then the strongest one Wednesday night into Thursday.
With the first 2 the front will be west of us and plenty of warm air will be over us so all rain is expected, however, when the 3 rd one rides the front, the front is going to be offshore and the low is going to take a nor’easter like track towards the benchmark.
And you can see behind the front there is plenty of cold air to work with and that cold air will be spilling in while the 3 rd low is impacting us.
The low will start off as rain for everyone then turn to snow NW to SE from the Poconos to the Coast with the coast just getting a brief period of snow and the Poconos getting an all out snowstorm
With all that being said here is my 2 nd call snow map
This is a very quick hitter, and in the 1-3 and 2-4 zone, it will probably change to snow after you fall asleep Wednesday night and may be over by the time you wake up Thursday morning but this is looking like a dynamic storm that may produce very heavy snowfall even along the coast. While I only expect a coating to an inch, it will come quite quickly with these areas maybe seeing 1-2 hours of snow. In he 1-3 area, they should have a few hours of snow and in the 2-4 inch area, looking for several hours of snow and in the 4-7 zone, expecting mainly snow .
After this storm, we enter a cold pattern, with highs around 45 Friday, then a cold front comes through Friday night with possible snow showers and brings a strong shot of cold air
Saturday highs will stay in the 30s for most of the area !! Besides along the immediate coast where they may squeak a 41 or 42 lows 21-27
Sunday highs will range 40-45 and same to start early next week with lows ranging 21-27
