As you can clearly see a big rainshieldis developing down south, this will move NE through the region tonight through tomorrow.
However unlike the storm yesterday, where the heaviest rain was in PA ( I KNOW HARD TO BELIEVE IF YOU SAW THOSE THUNDERSTORMS LAST NIGHT) but that’s because the low tracked through western PA, this storm will track through NJ and the heaviest rain will be confined to NJ and specifically Eastern NJ.
I expect a general range of 0.50-1.50, 0.50-0.75 expected for NW NJ and NE PA while 1-1.50 inches is possible along and SE of I95, thunderstorms possible again tonight, this is another strong and dynamic system. thunderstorms most likely over SE NJ where the warm front will be north of them, the warm front will not get past Southern NJ this time unlike last night. Very strong S winds expected along the southern NJ coast while the rest of us have a ENE wind Some snow will mix in over NW NJ and NE PA as colder air works in behind the storm, no accumulations expected
Rain will end tomorrow afternoon. Localized flooding expected the ground is super saturated and can not hold any more water, we are approaching 70 inches of rain for the year, average is 40-48 inches. Cold air comes in behind the storm
Christmas Eve looks nice but chilly highs around 40 lows in the low to mid 20s
Christmas is still up in the air as models are bringing the storm back west, right now if anything I expect cloudy skies and a few weak rain/snow showers highs around 40
Then we watch after Christmas for a potential coastal storm
