We have entered a very warm period as a massive ridge is building into the Eastern US, it will feel like spring for the next 2 days or so but don’t get used to it
Here is the latest satellite pic and you can see a big hump in the jet stream from Chicago to the east coast, that a huge ridge of high pressure building in. The band of clouds to our north that came through over night was the warm front ahead of this ridge.
There is now a SSW wind throughout the whole eastern US and VERY WARM T
The whole eastern US is being taken over by spring like temperatures as this huge ridge continues to build and create sinking warming air, 50s and 60s are racing in from the SW
For today any clouds will clear out , and a strong SW breeze will set up with highs 55-63 degrees
Tonight, being high pressure is in control temps will fall quite a bit with clear skies, lows 25-35
Tomorrow will be the warmest day ahead of a cold front but also the cloudier day with highs 57-65 degrees!! Could exceed 65 over SW NJ, showers will build in tomorrow afternoon maybe a thunder shower and this cold front will squash this ridge and push it out, then its back to reality
For Thursday we return to normal with highs 38-44 and strong winds out of the NW, you can clearly see where the cold front is, just N&W of Chicago where rapid temperature drops take place. lows 22-32 degrees
Friday will be a bit colder yet with highs 36-42 degrees lows 18-26 with Similar temps on Saturday
A huge ridge will be building in the west which will carve out a trough in the east and sen down cold air from West Canada
Theres a ton of uncertainty for Sunday, there will be a storm somewhere but the models have no clue where, some stall it in the Midwest and it just dissipates, some slide it OTS and some ive us a snowstorm. Ill keep an eye and will come out with a more detailed blog later on!!
