WOW is all I have to say, its March 19th and all of the forecast area besides Long Island sits in the low to upper 70s, low 70s along the NJ coast , upper 70s in east PA and mid to upper 70s in most of NJ. It feels like June rather than March and its only going to to get warmer!!!
For today mostly sunny skies, although I cant rule out an isolated thunderstorm, especially interior, just your typical isolated storm that USUALLY would develop on a July day due to heat and humidity, most areas will remain suny and dry with highs in the mid to upper 60s on Long Island, low to mid 70s along the NJ coast, mid to upper 70s else where from East PA to the I95 corridor, maybe someone in PA and SW NJ hit 80!!
Its also going to be humid, as a high off the east coast pumps in a SSW flow
Lows tonight will range from the mid 40s on Long Island, to the low 50s along the NJ coast and I95 corridor and mid 50s points west, maybe some fog along the immediate coast
Tomorrow will be cooler, a disturbance over West PA will move east, it will lead to a developing ESE wind tonight which will lead to cooler temperatures tomorrow along with more clouds than sun and maybe an isolated shower, still very mild for this time of year not to mention humid
As you can see the high shifts north, but very brief and its driving in an EAST wind which pushes the warm air back west, again BRIEFLY, there’s also some moisture around so isolated shower or storm possible especially inland but overall a mostly cloudy day, still some peeks of sun and highs in the low to mid 60s along the NJ coast, mid 60s along and west of the I95 corridor and mid to upper 60s in East PA maybe 70 once you get into central PA
On Wednesday, the high shifts back south, SE winds will shift SW some morning clouds and fog for coastal areas but should break up , highs in the low to mid 60s on Long Island, upper 60s along the NJ coast, low to mid 70s along I95 and mid 70s to low 80s in PA and humid conditions
By Thursday we have a classic Bermuda high and SE ridge sending a SW flow up the east coast, there’s a cut off low over Northern Texas helping to pump the ridge up and this is a VERY WARM TO EVEN HOT set up, this will be the warmest day
On Long Island, highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, NJ coast will see mid 70s, I95 corridor is where things start getting real toasty with highs ranging from 77-82 degrees with similar temperatures inland, humid too!!!
Friday while still very mild, we start seeing some changes
For one the upper low is now moving N & E, theres a back door cold front coming south and west too
Here is Friday night, you can see a trough is trying to build down the east coast , the SE ridge is fighting pretty good but everything is shifting south slowly
Here is Saturday AM and we got a back door cold front and the Upper low working together to suppress the SE ridge, Saturday is still mild but showers and thunderstorms are in the picture and the SE ridge is losing the battle and a ridge is also building around the Rockies, this is not good for the SE ridge
Through Saturday and Sunday, as the SE ridge is losing, high pressure from Canada will build down , the upper low will be forced east and transfer to a potential coastal low Saturday into Sunday, both the EURO and GFS agree now on this so Saturday afternoon through Sunday could be awfully wet as this would be a very slow-moving storm system, and also getting gradually colder and a Polar Maritime air mass builds in. I’m watching this potential storm but we still got ways to go so things could easily change. Either way even if the coastal doesnt develop the upper low will move ENE and most likely bring some showers and storms this weekend
