Our storm is finally heading up the coast!! We currently have a strong 997 mb low off of Florida that is moving NNE and rain is already spreading into our area
Rain will continue to overspread the area today and become heavier as the day goes on along with increasing winds, with 20-30 mph winds expected by tonight and gusts to 50 along the coast. That heavy blob of rain currently off on North Carolina will move north and then eventually NNW once the storm phases and beings to move NW , so that heavy rain will continue to expand and strengthen and move into NJ tonight then retrograde NW into PA
The rain will come to an end briefly Monday afternoon but then as the low stalls over the eastern great lakes showers will begin to circulate into the region again by Monday night and into Tuesday along with windy conditions, winds west 20-30 mph gusts to 40, dont be surprised to see some snow flakes mixed in Monday night with the showers as cold air comes in behind the storm with lows in the 30s and very cold air aloft.
Total Precipitation Expected
So for the forecast area 2-4 inches of rain can be expected, I just wanted to point out real quick that west PA and West VA are going to get a major snowstorm out of this, with widespread 12-18 inches of heavy wet snow!! Lots of power outages expected across the NE with very strong winds along the coast and heavy flooding rain, to heavy wet snow inland
