After another unsettled start to the week, we have a great stretch of weather coming in that will last several days and into the weekend!!
We saw anyhwere from 0.50-2.50 inches in the forecast area over the past 48 hours
In order to get to the nice stuff we have to go through one more night with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially northern areas
This is a cold front which will bring in a cooler and drier air mass for tomorrow and through the weekend, although the air mass will gradually modify day by day. . This cold front wont be a big deal, but don’t be surprised if you get a quick shower or thunderstorm at some point tonight.
A change of winds from SW to NW will lead to rapidly falling humidity and lows will fall into the upper 40s to mid 50s
Tomorrow a big high pressure system will begin to take hold from the great lakes with seasonably warm temperatures, very low humidity and clear skies into Friday with highs both days ranging from the upper 60s to mid 70s and lows in the mid 40s interior to mid 50s at the coast
Going into Saturday, a trough will build dow into the western US which will lead to rising heights and a ridge building into the east, with Saturdays highs ranging from the low 70s to upper 70s, SW NJ and SE PA someone may touch 80, and lows in te low 50s to low 60s
And Sunday the ridge will remain in place, notice the orientation is SW to NE so the gates are open for warm air to come north with highs ranging from the mid 70s to low 80s with the cool spots being along the coast with the cold ocean waters still having an influence and hot spots in the usually metro areas due to the city heat island effect.
That cold front over the midwest will lead to our next shot at rain , going early into next week. Anyone notice a recurring theme? Rain to start the week followed by nice weekends seem to be the pattern here!!
