This morning a disturbance is slowly moving up the NJ coast lin producing showers , heavy at times moving through , as the disturbance moves north, showers will decrease in coverage and exit by the early afternoon hours, with possible peeks of sun . Highs today will be around average with mid to upper 50s NE PA to mid 60s along the coast , as winds change SW briefly ahead of a cold front, but a colder air mass will come in behind this front through Sunday
Tonight lows will fall back to below average levels with lows in the mid 30s NE PA to low 40s along the coast with clearing skies
Thursday will be partly cloudy with continuation of below normal temperatures, highs in the low 50s NE PA to upper 50s to around 60 along the coast and lows will fall into the low 30s NE PA to upper 30s/low 40s along the coast
Friday a secondary cold front will come through, temperatures will moderate slightly ahead of it with highs in the mid 50s NE PA to low 60s along the coast, along with isolated showers , but a very chilly air mass will rush in Friday night, leading to the first widespread frost/freeze of the season!
Temperatures in NE PA will fall into the mid to upper 20s to upper 30s along the immediate coast , I expect a freeze between NW NJ and NE PA possibly down to around Allentown with lows in the mid 20s to low 30s and a frost between eastern Hunterdon , SE Morris and SE Passaic counties SE through the I95 corridor , along and east of I95 , no frost is expected but still chilly temperatures with lows in the low 40s.
The pink line in the top left image represents the freezing line so if your along and NW OF that, a freeze is expected, if your between the pink line and the I95 corridor a frost is expected
The weekend looks pretty nice, with Saturday being a little on the chilly side, highs in the low 50s NE PA to upper 50s along he coast but a warm front will come through Saturday night , leading to a warmer pattern through next week.
