For today and tomorrow tranquil but cold conditions will remain in place with highs in the mid 30s to low 40s , clear skies and breezy conditions
However tomorrow night a weak disturbance will come through Christmas eve night, and with cold air in place , there will be light snow/mix for most of the forecast area tomorrow night, again not a big deal but some wintry weather for your Christmas eve night and some snow on the ground Christmas morning when you wake up
Green – Mainly rain is expected, some wet flakes may mix in 0.10-0.25 of rain
Pink- Mix of rain and snow – Start off as rain , transition to rain/snow/sleet mix then back to rain, little accumulation trace to coating of snow
Light blue- Starts as rain or rain snow mix , transition to mainly snow/sleet then back to rain – minor accumulation of C-1 inch of snow on grassy surfaces
Dark blue- Mainly snow , some sleet may mix in minor accumulation of 1-2 inches of snow
Precipitation will clear out by early Christmas morning, skies will clear in the afternoon with highs in the mid 30s to low 40s
Another, much bigger storm will impact the forecast area Wednesday and Thursday , at this time it is looking like mainly a heavy rain/wind for the coastal plain, which is most of NJ , a sloppy winter storm for NW NJ and extreme east PA then a more substantial snow storm as you head into NE PA through Central PA but th exact track and extent of COLD AIR DAMMING has to be determined yet. If cold air damming is strong enough everyone could start off as snow/wintry mix so we will iron out the details in the coming days.
