My thoughts since yesterday have not changed on a light snow event for the area, a weak area of low pressure will track from northwest to southeast towards the Tennessee river valley then transfer to the VA/Nort Carolina coast and move east-northeast gradually intensifying , spreading light snow into most of the forecast area, with the most confined to southeast areas along the NJ coast/LI down through Delaware/Maryland and through eastern VA, the least being over interior NJ , NW NJ and NE PA . Snow showers will spread from WSW to ENE through the day tomorrow , becoming a steady light snow along and east of I95 for a time tomorrow evening , high ratio snow will allow the snow to accumulate quickly .
Lightest blue – Generally Coating to 1 inch of snow , locally 2 inches possible especially south and east ,this area is most volatile due to the threat of virga
Moderate blue – A general 1-2 inches, locally up to 3 inches of snow
Dark blue – General 2-4 inches with locally 5 inches of snow expected , especially in Maryland and southern areas
Final forecast will come out tomorrow morning .
