Since I will be going on vacation and will not be around, there will be no updates through next week , so today I will this time to just give a general overview of what to expect over the next 7-10 days in the wonderful world of weather!
We are seeing a fairly significant change in the weather pattern, most noticeably the large Bermuda high that dominated our weather over the past month and a half has shifted east finally , this will lead to less in the way of heat and humidity and more in the way of intrusions of cooler drier Canadian air masses as a dominant trough feature that’s been over the Ohio Valley/Midwest is able to come east slightly with the shift in the Bermuda high
A perfect example will be the next few days , today through Saturday which will feature much drier conditions and comfortable , seasonable to below seasonable temperatures , today highs in the mid 70s NE PA to mower to mid 80s elsewhere , tonight many areas will fall into the 50s for lows, lower to mid 50s NE PA , mid to upper 50s southeast of there , say between route 80 and the NJ Parkway than lower to mid 60s along the immediate coast tomorrow as a disturbance rides the cold front that is well offshore, there will be more in the way of clouds and even some isolated to scattered showers for immediate coastal areas, which will lead to highs stuck in the 70s for just about the whole region , lows again will range from the lower to mid 50s in higher elevations to lower to mid 60s along the coast
Friday and Saturday will feature clearing skies under Canadian high pressure with seasonable temperatures in the mid to upper 70s NE PA , lower to middle 80s elsewhere , lows in the mid to upper 50s NE PA, 60s elsewhere
Saturday night we will see a cold front approach from the west, this will lead to winds changing to southwest and will lead to increasing humidity through Sunday , with scattered showers/storms lasting through much of Sunday and perhaps even into early Monday morning , probably not a washout but the chances of rain will certainly be there with temperatures remaining in the upper 70s to mid 80s but again high humidity
The cold front is expected to cross through the region by Monday evening leading to a similar air mass to now being entrained for Monday night through Thursday with temperatures generally in the mid 70s to mid 80s for highs and lows in the mid 50s to mid 60s , another frontal system is expected late in the week with another bout of humidity and warming conditions into the 80s area wide , before cooling back down to normal to below normal levels by next weekend. Certainly a much different tone than we are used to.
So everyone enjoy the nice comfortable weather and I will be back up and running Monday August 5th!
