Above is the snowfall forecast for the major winter storm expected to hit our area , the trend today has been to bring the low farther west with more aggressive amounts of snow , so we went a bit aggressive to account for this and to account for the rapid intensification and expected strength of the low which is expected to approach the benchmark around 994 MB and rapidly strengthen to 984-988 MB as it pulls away
Blizzard conditions are likely from coastal NJ through LI , we could see blizzard warnings be issued later for these areas while the rest of the region likely wont reach blizzard criteria but will still experience a wind blown snowstorm.
Light snow will spread in from SW TO NE between the late morning south and west and spread northeast through the mid afternoon , as the system bombs out off the coast the snow will become moderate and heavy at times with increasing northerly winds , moderate to heavy snow will continue through the early morning hours of Wednesday with blizzard conditions at times from I95 points east
The worst of the storm is expected to be along the coastal plain and mostly along and east of the Delaware river but the Lehigh Valley through NW NJ should still get significant snow out of this , a sharp cutoff is expected west of these locations.
Our final snowfall forecast will either come out tonight or tomorrow morning.
