Every once in a while you get that one storm that is just a pain a rear end, the one storm that is so volatile and complex , and that one storm that just won’t cooperate and this is one of those storms! The models were basically no help what so ever and it’s just one of those set ups where now casting is especially crucial. With all this being said major changes need to be made once again to the snowfall forecast based on latest radar observation
Based on radar trends over the past 2 hours or so there has been very little to no progression northward of the snow shield and this very little support for anyone north of say Central NJ to get any accumulating snow. This still puts southern PA through Philadelphia and southern NJ in game for accumulating snow but I’d say the NYC metro is just about out of the game
I’m sorry for so many changes, I should’ve stuck with my guns from last night but water vapor imagery this morning argued for a potential northward shift, however the latest radar imagery is highly against a northerly shift , it’s something to watch for just in case because this storm is full of surprises but there’s just a point when you have to wave the white flag and I believe this is that time! Sometimes you just have to let Mother Nature take her course and whatever you wake up to in the morning, you wake up to .
With that said here is the final forecast , for real! If it busts, it busts whether it’s too far north or too far south etc this is what I see based on the latest radar and from past experience with similar types of storm systems
