Well I hope that you enjoyed the spring or even summer like temperatures this weekend with most of the area having temps in the 70s Saturday and lower 80s today! A big switch in the weather pattern is on the way which will bring well below average temperatures back into the picture by Tuesday night and dominant average or below average beyond that through next weekend along with a fairly wet pattern, with this being said we have one more nice day to get through and a soaking rainstorm before the cool down.
As we can see on the radar we have a long way to go before the cold front gets here and this will mean one more warm dry day , we will have strong gusty south winds and periods of clouds but overall Monday should be a nice day with high temperatures in the 60s along the along Island coast and parts of the NJ coast and the high elevations of NE PA with 70s elsewhere , mostly lower to mid 70s are forecasted but I think mid to upper 70s will be more likely as there should be enough sun along with the increasing southerly flow to warm most of the area warmer than forecasted.
Clouds and winds will increase Monday night with lows only in the 50s for everyone , with rain developing during the overnight in western sections. The rain will gradually and very slowly fill in from southwest to northeast and become heavy at times by Tuesday afternoon with high threat for some gusty thunderstorms , south winds of 15-30 mph are expected but thunderstorms could contain gusts of 50+ , as of now a general 1-2 inches of rain is expected , it could even end as some wet snow Tuesday night as cold air comes rushing in, highest chance of this is over the high elevations
Wednesday will feature clearing skies and MUCH colder conditions with highs in the 40 s for both Wednesday and Thursday, lows in the upper 20s to mid 30s , high threat for widespread frost or freeze conditions.
Temperatures will gradually moderate to the low to mid 50s by Friday then mid to upper 50s for Saturday depending on the evolution of a possible storm system, which could make next weekend rather cool and dreary.
