Just in time for the 1st day of October a cool and somewhat stormy weather pattern is returning after about 5 days or so of warmth and humidity
Today a coastal storm forming along the New England coast line will send down a cool northeast wind with isolated to scattered showers and periods of drizzle through the day, besides in Connecticut where a soaking rain and wind can be expected through the day , the clouds and northeast winds will keep temperatures in the low to mid 60s for highs in eastern sections throughout the area, some isolated mid to upper 60s farther west where there may be breaks of sunshine, clouds and any rain will slowly depart tonight from west to east with lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s
Thursday and Friday will be dominated by Canadian high pressure with clearing skies and seasonably cool conditions with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s and lows in the mid 40s to low 50s , with mid to upper 50s in urban areas
Friday night clouds and rain chances will increase again with a very potent cold front expected to cross through the area Saturday , Friday nights lows will be warmer due to clouds and southerly winds with temperatures in the mid 50s to low 60s
The cold front will be strong, slow moving and negative tilted, meaning a heavy rain event is likely late Friday night through early Saturday afternoon, the cold front being negative tilted (from southeast to northwest) could bring in Atlantic moisture and enhance rainfall with amounts generally in the 0.75-1.50 inch range with up to 2 inches possible locally, also a embedded thunderstorm will be possible
This front will bring very chilly air into the picture Saturday night through Monday morning with lows in the mid 30s to low 40s for most of the area besides urban and coastal areas where mid to upper 40s are expected and highs on Sunday will only be in the mid 50s to low 60s, and Monday in the 60s area wide
Monday night into Tuesday a reinforcing cold front will come through with another shot for moderate to heavy rain, temperatures will moderate to near normal through the period.
After this while temperature may moderate to near normal a very stormy pattern may establish itself by the weekend into the following week
